The sealed-rim pouch is manufactured from a composite film on a roll. Manufacturing of the pouch is carried out on the pouch manufacturing machine. After sealing the vertical and bottom seams, the finished pouch is transferred to the rotary  filler for filling. Here, sealing the crown is also carried out, either thermally or optionally using ultrasonic.

This type of pouch is mainly used for liquids, such as e.g. drinks, sauces and soups, or for paste-like products, such as e.g. creams or mousse. Sometimes, powder or fine-grained granulates are also packed in this packaging.
